We have dealt with various speech, language and hearing disorders in patients of all ages, as part of clinical practicum Measurements of hearing acuity of patients of all ages, using Pure Tone Audiometry, Immittance Audiometry, Behavior Observation Audiometry, Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry, Steady State Evoked Potentials (SSEP), Optoacoustic Emissions and correlating the various test results.
Administration and interpretation of audiological diagnostic procedures such as SISI, STAT, ABLB, special tests with Immittance Audiometry, etc., including tests for Pseudohypacusis and Central Auditory Dysfunction (CAD).
Assessing Candidacy for Cochlear Implants. Post-operative rehabilitation: Mapping and intensive auditory training of children with cochlear implants.
- Infant hearing screening programs for hearing loss, including administration of high risk register OAE’s and other methods.
- Assessment & rehabilitation of clients presenting with auditory processing disorders, hyperacusis, tinnitus via a battery of standardized tests and therapeutic techniques.
- Counseling regarding prevention and management of auditory impairments.
- Prescriptions of appropriate hearing aids and assistive listening devices using subjective and objective procedures, including use of measures like the insertion gain.
- Auditory training programs for the hearing aid users, including auditory verbal therapy, speech reading training, communication strategies training and assertiveness training.
- Ear mould making and its modification for achieving desired acoustic variations.
- Measurements of electroacoustic characteristics of hearing aids.
- Hearing-conservation programs in industry and other areas measurement of environmental noise.
Speech Language Pathology Practicurm
- Diagnosis – assessment of various speech language disorders, for nature and severity, in patients of all ages.
- Administration of various speech language tests, both subjective and objective including use of analog, digital and computer based instruments.
- Counseling patients and their families, regarding nature, cause and management of their speech-language problems.
- Therapy – Speech-language therapy of patients of all ages, for voice, articulation, fluency and other speech and language disorders (delayed speech and language with or without hearing loss, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, stuttering, cluttering, cleft palate, misarticulation, aphasia, laryngectomy, specific learning disability (dyslexia), dysarthrias, voice problems etc.,)
